If you have already tried:

-listening to the same English music on repeat

-watching English TV series & movies with subtitles...with English subtitles...without subtitles...

-studying the present perfect for the 10th...no, 12th time...

but STILL can't understand your friends or colleagues in a conversation, you need to focus on a new way of listening - one that helps you make sense of the confusing mixture of sounds you are hearing.

I've been teaching English to adults around the world for over ten years and one common question I hear is, "How can I get better at listening in English?"

There is a solution, but it's not...

-watching TV series & movies (sorry, Netflix)

-listening to music & podcasts (especially not while you're doing something else!)

-repeating the same video over and over (boring!)

-learning more and more grammar (enough already!)

Instead, I help you focus on the skills that will really make a difference in your ability to understand what people are saying so that you don't have to fear conversations in English.

The course is divided into three activities. Each activity demonstrates the 4-step HEAR method with different types of content. Watching the videos for each activity will take about 20 minutes, but it will take more time to complete each activity on your own.

Language learning requires repeated practice. I recommend that you try each activity for a week before moving on to the next one.

How will this course help me with my listening skills?

This course will teach you a method to make your listening practice more effective. When you start to practice with this method, you will begin to identify common problems that make listening difficult. Instead of hearing a mixture of sounds, you will start to hear more words and phrases, even if they don't sound the way you expect them to.

Improving your listening skills will not happen immediately, but, with regular practice, you will be able to understand more and more of what others are saying.
